Fraunhofer EMI at the ILA Berlin 2026

From June 10 to 14, 2026, the ILA Berlin in Schönefeld will open its doors. As one of Europe's leading trade shows for the aerospace industry, ILA Berlin brings together experts and innovators from around the world. Fraunhofer EMI will be on site, presenting cutting-edge research topics.
 

Space: From Space for the Earth

At the Space booth (Hall B, Stand 240) the focus is on space‑based solutions that create concrete added value for climate, environment, security and society – including sensor and communication technologies, precise Earth‑observation systems, as well as materials and systems designed for extreme operating conditions. Learn more about the latest results of the ERNST mission and discuss with the scientists the potential of small satellites for government, society and the economy. The booth also addresses the industrialisation of spaceflight and the shift from one‑off developments to reproducible, cost‑effective systems.
 

Aviation: On the Path to Climate‑Friendly Flying

At the Aviation booth (Hall C, Stand 280) everything revolves around the aviation of tomorrow. Central topics are electric and hybrid propulsion, hydrogen technologies, lightweight construction, as well as digitally supported and automated production processes. Talk with our experts about safe propulsion batteries for aircraft and helicopters and find out more about the risks of lithium‑ion batteries on board aircraft. Additional topics include drone impact, hail impact, recycling of fibre‑composite materials, hydraulic RAM, and material characterisation and modelling at high strain rates and low temperatures.
